The Islamic World

Islam is the world’s second largest religion after Christianity. According to a 2010 study, Islam has 1.62 billion adherents, making up over 23% of the world population.

Muslims around the world have made major contributions to culture and society through innovations in science, art, and academics. However, it is important to note that all the intellectual work done by Muslims was driven by their unwavering faith. These words “unwavering faith” must be well understood by all Muslims both in the context of Islamic principles and its practice. The Islamic Center of Fremont’s Sunday School endeavors to just that.

You can go the Library to learn more about Islam, the final word and guidance from Allah (swt).

School Growth

The ICF Sunday Islamic School (ICFSS) was formed in 1998 to build a stronger Muslim community by imparting knowledge of the Islamic principles according to the teachings of the Quran, Sunnah and Hadith.

Its beginnings were humble. Starting with less than 20 students of varying ages it has today grown to an attendance of over 200 . These students range in age from 4 years to 18 years and are spread between grades starting from pre-kindergarten through 7th.

School Volunteers

The ICF Sunday Islamic School is managed and run entirely by volunteers from the Muslim community. These are people whose children are students at the school and who have decided to give their time to help administer to the many tasks necessary to run the school smoothly. Having tasted the pride of giving back to the community some parents continue to volunteer even after their children have graduated from the school.

School Program

The ICF Sunday Islamic School offers a robust program that starts at the PreK for four year olds and goes all the way to the 7th Grade. Its curriculum comprises of Islamic principles and prayer, Islamic history, Quranic reading and Quranic Arabic. All these are designed to help your children to understand the Islamic way of life, to embrace it and to be proud of it.

School Location

Due to the tremendous growth in the school rolls the school tapped community resources by reaching out to the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD). Since 2005 ICFSS has rented facilities from FUSD at the Kennedy High School in Fremont, a facility large enough to house the many grade levels ICFSS now has. The annual award ceremony and many academic and social events are also held here.
